Spartak Moscow Region have swooped for Latvia superstar Anete Jekabsone-Zogota.
The 25-year-old scoring machine has signed a multi-year deal with three-time defending champions of the EuroLeague Women, the club has confirmed.
"Anete is a great player and wanted to join the three muskateers," Spartak general manager Steve Costalas said, referring to Spartak trio Diana Taurasi, Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird.
"She wanted to be a part of our family."
Jekabsone-Zogota, who averaged 20.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game for the Baltic country at the EuroBasket Women, was the FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year in 2007.
She played for Dynamo Moscow from 2006-09.
Spartak had also been interested in signing Evina Maltsi of Greece earlier this year.
Maltsi, the EuroBasket Women's leading scorer at 22.6 points per game, signed an extension to stay with USK Prague.
On Saturday Maltsi led Greece to a 60-56 win over Italy in Latvia to clinch fifth place at the EuroBasket and a spot in the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women.
